How Spray Foam Insulation Detroit Works
Spray Foam Insulation Detroit insulates and air seals houses across Detroit and the surrounding suburbs. We spray open-cell and closed-cell foam, blow cellulose and fiberglass into attics and walls, insulate basements and rim joists, tighten up story-and-a-half bungalows, and pull out old insulation that is wet, dirty or in the way.
Most of the houses we work on were built long before anyone talked about air sealing. Detroit has one of the largest surviving collections of late 19th and early 20th century buildings in the country, and the suburbs that ring it filled up with bungalows and brick ranches after World War II. Those homes leak in predictable places, and the fix is rarely the same from one house to the next. So we start with a visit.
What a visit covers
We go into the attic and the basement, look at the walls from inside and out, and check any finished attic rooms, kneewalls, additions or rooms over a garage. We measure what insulation is there and note its condition. We look for the leaks that matter most in a Michigan winter: open chases, top plates, plumbing and flue penetrations, recessed lights, the attic hatch and the rim joist. We also flag what new insulation should not bury: roof leaks, damp sills, rodent damage, live knob-and-tube wiring and loose-fill that could be vermiculite.
How we price
Every quote is written. Each area gets its own line with the material, the depth or thickness, the target R-value and the price. If two approaches would both work, for example foam on the roof deck versus sealing the attic floor and blowing cellulose, we show both and explain the trade-off. Work starts only after you approve the quote, and any change gets agreed in writing first.
Rebates
If DTE is the primary provider of your home's heat, DTE's insulation rebate program may cover part of the job. We tell you which of your areas match the program's listed measures, and you can confirm the current terms on DTE's page before you sign anything.
